Since opening in October 2002 the restaurant has grown in popularity to the point where booking is essential. The ethos is on the freshest and best local produce, carefully prepared and cooked with Italian flair. This can perhaps be best seen in The Italian's meat dishes which take the finest Aberdeen Angus beef and cook them in a Mediterranean style which both compliments and brings out the quality of the product. The brigade of Italian chefs have a commitment to quality, simple food cooked to order and it is for this reason that the restaurant has become renowned as the best in the city.
