First-class
theatre, drama and culture finds its way to the various
theatres in and around Angus and Dundee.
Artistes from the world of the stage, ballet, opera,
pop music, musical theatre, and home grown talent, perform
throughout the year in venues such as the newly refurbished
Caird Hall, which has a seating capacity of 2,400.
Dundee's cultural quarter is home to the Dundee Rep
Theatre, Scotland's only resident company of actors,
and the Scottish Dance Theatre.
The state-of-the-art dance school attached to the Space,
opened by her Majesty the Queen earlier this year, aims
to put Scottish Contemporary dance on the world stage.
The Whitehall Theatre in Dundee, and the Webster and
Abbey Theatres in Arbroath, feature varied programmes
of drama, pantomime, music and comedy, by professional
and amateur companies alike.
