TAYSIDE HISTORICAL TOURS PRESENTS: DUNDEE CITY CENTRE WALK Join us on a journey through the ages, as many of the most important (and bloody) events in Dundee’s often stormy history are explained by our expert tour guide. Tours will generally take place every Monday and Thursday at 2pm and on Saturday at 11am leaving from the Burns Statue outside the McManus Galleries (please check availability by phone or email). The guided tour will last between 1 1/2 and 2 hours, and costs £6 for adults and £4 for concessions - group rates are available. We also organise group, family and personal guided tours of Historical Angus, which contains not only stunning scenery, but also key places associated with the bloody birth and childhood of the Scottish nation. These tours usually last all day, but can be so organised to suit the convenience of participants. Rates for these tours are negotiable, and can be discussed with the Dundee tour guide. The 900 year historical evolution of Dundee as a centre of defence, trade, industry and political power will be explained by our expert local tour guide, allowing the vennels, wynds and everyday life of medieval Dundee to be brought back to life. So, also will many of the key historical events and personalities associated with the long history of the City of Discovery; Calgacus, William Wallace, Robert Bruce, George Wishart, Mary Queen of Scots, George Monk, Admiral Duncan, William McGonagall, Mary Slessor, Winston Churchill, and last but by no means least, Desperate Dan.
