Mending the Broken Heart: The Evolution of Cardiology in Tayside. The development of cardiology in Britain has its roots here in Tayside, where Sir James Mckenzie was born. After a humble childwood in Perthshire he achieved worldwide fame as a general practitioner and pioneering cardiologist. In Dundee, the Department of Cardiology has grown from modest beginnings in the 1920s to become an international centre of excellence. This exhibition highlights some of these achievements.
