The
Royal Burgh of Montrose is the northern-most coastal
town in Angus. Located around a natural harbour, it
continues its strong affinity with the sea as a source
of support services for Scotland's North Sea oil industry.
It has much to explore, with its internationally important
wildlife sanctuary at the Montrose Basin Wildlife centre,
aviation history at Montrose Air Station Museum - the
first operational air station in Britain - the beautiful
18th century House of Dun, which contains mementoes
of family life at the time, and spectacular, award-winning,
unspoiled sands at St Cyrus and Lunan Bay.
